I didn’t choose to be an alcoholic nor did I aspire to be. It is my destiny.
Once the debate in my mind has ended, and I admit that I am powerless over alcohol, what can I do?
Setting aside the substances is a life-altering decision and impossible for me to do on my own.
Each day, on my knees I pray.
“God, please help me to want to be sober today more than anything else.”
I have not had to pick up a drink or a drug since I started doing that.
God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.
