After having spent many hours in church basements and parish halls, sitting on folding chairs, I have a pretty good idea what a miracle looks like.

I have witnessed many miracles and have been the beneficiary of a few myself.

I must have faith and leave the rest up to God.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

When I was hopeless, God gave me a moment of clarity. I had to be desperate and willing to hear the message.

Some of us need to be in a state of suffering before we get the message.

For people like me, there is a better way to live. There is hope if we are willing.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

When I ask God for help, it’s because He can do for me what I cannot do for myself.

God helps me on His Terms, not mine.

I had better be on my knees when I ask. I had better ask nicely.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

When I try to steer God’s Plan for me, it’s like trying to move an immovable object.

I don’t have that kind of power. It’s insane for me to act like I do. God never follows my lead.

I should focus my attention on following God’s Will and accepting that everything happens in His Time.

God is very busy. Sometimes I just need to be patient.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

Connecting with another human being who is trying to recover from a spiritual malady is essential. Whether they are two hours or twenty years clean and sober, it doesn’t matter.

God reveals himself to me through others. When I seek God, I find people.

When I connect with people, I find God.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

I didn’t stop using alcohol and drugs forever. I couldn’t ever handle that steep of a climb.

I have just tried to stop for one day. That’s it.

I can procrastinate a lot of things because I’m really good at that. Drinking and using drugs eventually falls to the bottom of my to-do list.

Taking care of my spiritual condition is always at the top of my to-do list.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

I can learn more from losing than I can from winning.

There is always a good reason when things don’t go my way.

So, while I’m licking my wounds and feeling sorry for myself, perhaps I should take some time to reflect on the lessons to be learned.

Sometimes the gift is in not getting my way. I have to trust God on that one.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

The perspective I need is often right in front of me but I don’t see it. It helps to have someone point it out.

It helps to connect with another person so I can keep my sanity.

A wise man once told me “ A problem shared is a problem halved.”

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

There is always a reward for not giving up. It’s like staying until the end of a really good ballgame.

I already know how I will feel if I quit. There is something special that happens inside of me when I see things through.

One day at a time, I never give up. I want to stick around to see the ending. I’m sure it will be worth it.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

    “I got you.” – God

No matter how disappointed I am with an outcome, I know that God has my back more than anyone.

I just need to believe it and trust it. He takes care of the rest.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.
