If I ask for help and get direction from someone who has been successful, but don’t follow the direction, how can I say their direction doesn’t work?

If my old ways just make things worse, perhaps I should discard my old ways.

It is possible for me to change. It starts with me being willing.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

If I want to free myself from the burden of self-centeredness, all I need to do is watch those who are not so self-centered and do what they do.

Asking God for help in that area might help a little.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

I just returned home after a beautiful week-long vacation with my family.

I am so grateful to have a family, let alone one that would want to spend the week away with me.

I could never have foreseen the life that I am living.

I am so Blessed. Thank You God.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

“Don’t do anything today that will make tomorrow tougher.”

I used to wake up most days trying to piece together what I had done yesterday. Regret was a constant theme, so drinking again today helped me to forget yesterday.

Of course, every day was the same pattern.

Living with regret is a heavy burden for anyone. For people like me, we drink over that kind of thing.

“God-consciousness” helps me to choose to live today the right way.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

I often think back to the time when I felt like I was a hopeless, “lost cause”.

I was hopeless, fearful, and the thing in which I sought comfort had betrayed me.

A seed of hope started to turn things around for me – one day at a time.

I couldn’t see it then, but I see it now. The seed grew into a life worth living.

It was God’s Grace all along.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

“So I got sober. What do I have to show for it?”

If I had stopped drinking to appease someone else, I probably could not have stayed “stopped”. It’s not for show.

As it turns out, no one can see the changes inside of me.

As I continue to seek God to fill the “hole in my soul”, the way I treat others reflects how I feel about myself.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

I never know where I might find an angel. I also don’t know what it might look like.

I do know what it feels like when I hear God speak through an angel, because it touches my soul through all of the other noise.

When I’m hurting the most is when I need to listen the most.

That’s when God is trying to reach me.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

“We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness”.

I am no longer a slave to substances to give me a false, temporary sense of being happy.

I am finally comfortable in my own skin.

What I had once thought was impossible is very real.

That alone is worth the price of admission.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

If I’m worried about something, I ought to just take care of it.

If I can’t take care of it, I ought to forget it and leave it up to God.

    God doesn’t worry.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

When I took away the substances I had used to make me feel “ok”, I felt like it left a huge void in me.

The void was already there and getting larger.

I asked “What’s going to happen to me?”

I was told “Trust God – one day at a time”.

“Yeah but …”. … “Trust God.”

After all this time “Trust God” is still the answer.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.
