After all this time, I am still perfectly capable of drinking or using drugs again.

All of the old attitudes are tucked away, waiting to be deployed.

I am granted a Daily Reprieve, contingent upon the maintenance of my Spiritual Condition.

That means I start all over each day, seeking God’s Help.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

I can change where I go, what I do, or who I associate with, but that doesn’t change me.

I’m still stuck with me. I had better get used to it.

If I want to be happy, I must start with the change within me.

The change within me starts in my soul.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

I must be selfish about my own recovery.

    I can’t keep my sobriety if I don’t share it, but I can’t share what I don’t have.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

God closes doors when He knows I’m ready.

God opens doors when He knows I’m ready.

While I’m waiting for the doors to close or open is when I need to work on becoming ready.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

After witnessing miracles in the lives of others, I believe that miracles are possible in mine.

Perhaps the miracle in my life is that I believe that a miracle is possible.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

    If nothing changes, nothing changes.

Once I stopped abusing substances, all of the thoughts and feelings I had suppressed came boiling to the surface.

I felt naked in front of the whole world, like everyone could see how scared I was.

It was overwhelming. So, it’s not surprising when someone relapses.

I needed to change. It started with seeking God’s Protection and Care.

It continues with seeking God’s Help daily.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

Shedding my addictions had a purpose that I did not initially see.

At first I thought I just needed to stop suffering, to alter the self-destructive path I was traveling.

After my mind cleared a bit, and I started to follow certain steps, I wondered where this was going to lead me.

When I eventually thought less about “me”, I realized that God was carrying me so that I might get closer to Him by helping others.

This has been a journey to find God all along.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

If I knew that today would be my last day on Earth and I had nothing more to gain and nothing more to lose, would I drink or would I pray?

What would I do if I didn’t know?

    Giddy up.

    Thank You God.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

Life has a tendency to get very busy. When it does, the noise in my mind increases.

I need to remember to take time to let my soul catch up with me and quiet the noise.

Sometimes I need to take a lot of time for the peace to return.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.

When people show compassion towards others, there is a “ripple effect”.

Those to whom compassion is shown don’t forget it. They tend to pass it on to others.

So when God gives me the opportunity to show compassion towards one person, He is asking me to help change the world.

It’s one of life’s greatest opportunities. I shouldn’t miss it.

God, please help me to be ok today. Thank You. Amen.
